ABOUT YOUR PHOTOSHOOT

First, let me say how delighted I am that you have chosen me to capture your memories. Photography is my passion and my goal is to give you a product you will love.  At the same time, I hope to make this time very enjoyable with the least amount of stress possible.  I am well aware, sometimes people can be overwhelmed with photo day. I totally understand. Normally I have a plan on hand with photo/poses samples to show you during your shoot so it can better assist you to pose and not feel “awkward”.  It’s always hard for me to demonstrate a pose, being that I am only one person and my hands are normally tied up with my camera/gear. Showing my clients a sample pose helps tremendously during the photoshoot. It makes everything move along very smoothly. Having a plan is not just for my clients, it’s for me as well. Photography isn’t always as easy at it may seem. Planning ahead for a  photoshoot makes the entire session that much easier for you as my client.

Just a few tips to help your day go easy with the least amount of stress….

  1. Pre plan your outfits. Do it at least 2 weeks in advance so that no one is worried about what they will wear. Believe me it makes the upcoming photo day go a lot smoother.

  2. For those of you that aren’t sure of your color scheme, feel free to ask me or look on Pinterest where there are plenty of color ideas. Think about your location and season. I can tell you, never mix off white/cream with pure white. It is just not cohesive.

  3. Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled shoot time. Last minute touch ups and a quick explanation on the shoot plans is important.

  4. Any ideas you may have that you like PLEASE send them to me . I know everyone’s styles and tastes are not the same. Please send me your ideas at least 3 days in advance.

  5. I do have some  small props. If you have any you are welcome to bring them, just please make me aware of your ideas ahead of time.

  6. If you are going to be posting your photos once you receive them Please save them at a high resolution before posting. No screen shots please. Remember , my name is on this photo, if  looks bad.. I’m the one to blame. I will send a separate text with instructions on how to properly save your photos.

  7. I do use a professional printing company if you do decide to have prints done. I highly recommend using this company. I do not “up charge” and you are welcome to come to my home as i order these prints and see exactly what you are getting before ordering. I have print quality samples here also. Yes ,you can use your local printing preference but I cant stress enough that you get what you pay for. The printing company I use is not expensive in any way . Average cost of an 8x10 is about $2.  I promise its worth going with a professional company when you want to frame or gift these photos.

Saved the most important detail for last:    TRY NOT TO BE LATE !   keep travel time in mind so that you are not running late for your shoot appointment.  Lighting is key for your photo outcome as I do not use a flash in my photography. I'm strictly a  natural lighting photographer. I depend on the sun for all of your lighting. Most of the shoot times are during the golden hour. Once the sun starts to set, it goes  away really quickly . So please be on time for your photoshoot. I sometimes have multiple shoots scheduled for the same day and if you are late for your time, you may miss out on those extra few shots. Five minutes of photography time can mean up to 5 images you will miss out on. Please map quest your location for your travel time and account for traffic.
